Video: Alus – “Stilettos”

This artist Alus was brought to my attention & she instantly caught my interest. She has a vintage 1960s look & sound that I can honestly say that I am in love with. I’ve always said that if I could live in any era, it would be the 60s. ALus says her inspirations are Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Whitney Houston, Pat Benatar, Christina Aguilera, John Mayer, and Mariah Carey & refers to her style of music as vintage pop.

She is only 19 years old & clearly has the internet going nuts with 7k+ fans on her Facebook & 50k+ followers on her Twitter. After watching her video for “Stilettos”, I can understand why. I love the song & the video! Check it out!

Dope right?! I’m sure that she will be a household name very soon!

Video: Henry Blak – “Kill Me”

henryblak

HENRY BLAK, a NYC based band lead by supermodel and female vocalist NICOLE TRUNFIO and producer/actor Carlos Velazquez have released their first self-titled EP earlier this month via AOL. And their first video was exclusively premiered via VIBE.com April 18th, which was shot by Hunter Barnes (Butthole Surfers) on Super 8 film. Henry Blak was unofficially formed during Fashion Week 2011, when Nicole and Carlos performed two songs for the A-list crowd at Milk Studios, for which they received an electric and visceral response. Soon they were fielding offers to p! erform in Paris and London Fashion Weeks. Inspired by the reception, the duo got to work writing and recording music for their debut EP.

Nicole and Carlos teamed up with Producer Josh Werner (Wu-Tang Clan, Coco Rosie), who textured the music with a gritty, electronic touch and perfected their sound. Once in the studio, the band ultimately expanded into a five-piece outfit with dreamy electric lead guitar riffs provided by Eric Parisi and pulsating beats courtesy of drummer Loren Humphrey (Guards). The result is a dynamic electronic indie rock band layered with dreamy psychedelic breakdowns and beautiful vocal melodies. The sound is evocative of the melodic simplicity of the Pixies, the electronic undertones of The Kills, and the attitude of The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s.

Here’s their new video “Kill Me”…
