Cast Eyewear was founded in 2011 by Fahrani Empel and Miles Pitt. Both self-confessed eyewear addicts, they decided to share their vision of the brand producing limited editor runs of handmade sunglasses. Fa (Fahrani) has graced the pages of international press for the last ten years as possibly the most tattooed and striking model in fashion. She extended her strong sense of style and purpose to film and has starred in many major feature films in her home country of Indonesia. Alongside these credits she regularly guest designs for various fashion labels. Including Cast her current passion is her involvement in Project Boreno, a charity helping to save the rainforests of Borneo. Adding to all this, her style has the edge of a razor blade just matching her passion for life.

Miles also has an equal list of variety to his curriculum/ Graphic Design and Illustration led him to Production Design for film and television, working on the largest features filmed in Australia, these talents engaged his role as concept designer for Stab magazine, which also indulges his photographic pursuits. Having impaired sight he is known to wear his optical sunglasses in dimly lit circumstances and encourage others to do also.

While Empel and Pitt joined forces establishing this young label only a just over a year ago their bold designs have been featured by a myriad of international and Australian publications, including Vogue (Italy & Japan), L’Officiel (Paris), Numero (China), Elle (Indonesia), as well as Australian favourites, Russh and Grazia while also gaining a loyal following from some of fashion’s most notorious tastemakers including the likes of musical icons Madonna, Ms. Gaga, Rihanna, and Rita Ora.
